Bath Time with the Tubby Table

Bath Time with my Toddler!

Micah used to love bath time. Then he discovered the shower and it terrified him, which left him scared of the tub for a while. We gradually got him back used to the tub (and more used to water falling on his head thanks to our local Splash Pad), but he’s quickly become bored of his tub toys. He still loves playing in the water, but he gets bored of keeping the water inside the tub long before I’ve managed to wash his hair.

Tubby Table Assembly

Tubby Table

The Tubby Table is pure fun: a little table that suctions to the floor tub and has shaped cups to either play with the water or try to fit them in the right holes. Or learn colors, numbers and shapes. It’s educational and fun, with enough different options to entertain multiple ages and stages.

Tubby Table: The Good

The Tubby Table is fun! Micah loves playing with the cups, mainly splashing water with them. Plus he can use the table for his other toys too. And, if it is far enough to not hit the walls, it spins which entertains him to no end.

The Tubby Table is educational. This rocks. I want to help Micah learn his colors, numbers and shapes sooner rather than later, so it’s a great way to introduce them while having fun.

The Tubby Table is safe. The edges are padded so Micah can’t hurt himself. The table is full of tiny holes so the water goes through. The table is screwed onto the base so it’s not going to fall apart. Speaking of the screws, the setup was also quick and easy.

You could even suction or set the Tubby Table other places in the house for entertainment outside of the tub.

Tubby Table Cups

Tubby Table: The Bad

The Tubby Table is small enough to fit in a small tub, but doesn’t easily come apart for storage, so it pretty much has to always sit in the tub. That’s fine for us because we use the master bath and the kids use the second bath.

The Tubby Table doesn’t suction well to our tub floor. Our tub floor is slightly textured, which is great to avoid slipping but also means the big suction cup can’t grip well. On a regular smooth tub floor, it should stick fine, but I don’t have one to test it on to say for sure.

Micah can’t get the cups out of the holes by himself, it takes pulling it up with one finger then grabbing the whole thing to pull it out and he hasn’t figured that out yet. But, since the Tubby Table can be used for many ages, he’ll eventually figure it out while it is still fun.

The little mat that comes with it is rather small and also doesn’t suction well to my tub floor. Again, it might suction better to a non-textured tub floor, so then it’ll help prevent slipping, but it’s still rather small.

Tubby Table Tub

For $40, if you have a tub with a smooth bottom and a kid that needs entertainment, this makes an awesome, long-lasting tool. Check out the Tubby Table online as well as on Facebook and Twitter!

This is a pretty awesome fun bath toy, also could use it out of the tub. Great to promote learning too. Love that it keeps them occupied while they get cleaned up.

I like it! I love getting ideas from your posts of things that I want to get my baby when he is older! I like that you can use it in the tub or outside of it. Quick question, what is a splash pad and what does it do? I guess that was two questions 🙂 Thanks!

The Splash pad is a park by our local pool with water things (like you would see at a kiddie pool – a tree with water, dumping buckets, little fountain things, etc) that’s fun for kids to play in, I’ll post a picture of it soon 🙂

This is so neat and a wonderful way to get the little ones to “want” to take a bath

Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the web the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
