Micah loves his RECARO Performance Ride Convertible Car Seat!
We’ve reviewed some fantastic car seats, and this one definitely falls in the top ranks. The RECARO Convertible seat is in daddy’s Explorer and it sits high enough that Micah can see out the windows, which he LOVES! Today he actually climbed right into it and tried to put on the harness! That’s basically unheard of, normally he cries at the site of car seats because he doesn’t want to be restrained.
The RECARO Convertible Car Seat is Safe
The most important part of any car seat is that it’s safe. That’s the whole point. Since RECARO specializes in seats, I know they have the background knowledge and ability to make a safe car seat. This convertible car seat has many safety features found in most good car seats; head protection, shoulder and crotch padding and protective foam.
It also has some I haven’t seen before, like the stripe running up the harness so I can quickly and easily see that the harness is straight and correct. I also love that the shoulder straps are anchored into the seat itself so they don’t fall down the harness off the shoulders between trips.
The RECARO Car Seat is Easy to Install and Operate
With the LATCH system or a seat belt, it’s easy to install the RECARO Convertible Car Seat safely and securely. The harness can be adjusted easily without rethreading, which is always an awesome feature, and this RECARO seat is different from others that it goes up and down with a knob instead of clicking up and down with a handle. This means it can be adjusted to absolutely any height, totally awesome.
Any downside to the RECARO Convertible Car Seat?
Overall, it’s a great car seat. The only real downside I could come up with is that the removable cup holder is hard for Micah to reach. It will be easier as he gets older, but for now it’s hard to reach and, rear-facing, seems a tight fit against the seat. Don’t get me wrong, it fits and I like that it can go on either side, it’ll just be better for an older child. Other than that, I really can’t come up with any downsides, it’s a great seat.

Aside from the safety features which are always the most important I like the range of ages/sizes that the carseat will handle from rear facing at 5lbs to forward facing 65lbs.

I love our annual trip to the beach each summer! The car ride is quite relaxing and enjoyable! We tend to leave at night so the kiddos sleep most of the way and the hubs and I get a chance to chatter away :))

At this point, we haven’t even taken a trip more than 45 minutes away with both our girls, ages 7 and 1. We mostly go to family member’s houses together. Our favorite family destination is Florida. We have relatives there but between the beaches, Disney, other parks, zoos etc etc- you can’t go wrong. Yes, it is warm but the fun usually outweighs it all.
My favorite feature- Idont currently own a seat but I think not having to rethread the seat would be big in my book. But also the safety features. I know hubby would love the sporty look of it.

This looks like a great seat! I have heard great things about this brand. Comfy safe seats are so important when going anywhere especially long road trips to see family.
We love trips up to Amarillo to visit family. It’s about a 6 hour drive from DFW, so a comfortable, safe car seat is very important! Once little one gets older, we plan to make many family trips to different places. It would be great to have a Recaro!
Some of my favorite features are the crotch protection and the shoulder pads that are attached. Safety-wise, I love the easy straps, and the extra side protection. Everything looks very streamlined and easy to operate.
I think my favorite road trip would first require checking the car seat for a plane ride! I love southern Austria, northern Italy and germany. (We went there on our honeymoon.). I don’t think my sweet little guy is ready for that long on an airplane yet — he’s only 3 months! It’s always nice to dream, we will get back there someday!
My favorite feature has to be the safety. Clearly, they’ve put a lot of thought into the side impact protection. I think I would feel better knowing my little guy’s vulnerabilities are minimized in this seat.

It looks like a great cat seat. We use the Britax Boulevard 70CS, which I love. It is heavy, and not as high safety rating as it used to be.

Our family loves driving from Arizona to Malibu Beach. The drive through the canyon before you reach the coast is so beautiful and the beach is awesome. We like to eat breakfast at The Paradise Cove Restaurant on the coastline then enjoying the beach after.
