Classic Italian Lasagna Recipe
So this post has been a long time coming. I have been neglecting to show you all my newest favorite thing to do. COOKING! I actually have quite the love-hate relationship with cooking, but recently I have a super adoration for it, and have been experimenting a lot with all sorts of different recipes. I think the ‘hate’ part comes more from the cleanup than anything. Or the fact that I can’t possibly spend as much time cooking as I really want/need to (due to a semi-full time, often-evening-hours job, kids, etc.). I think the biggest change is that two major things just kind-of came together for me, conveniently around the same time: I finally got almost every kitchen tool that I have had on my wish-list since getting married, AND – possibly the biggest thing – finding a website that I adore who cooks great meals and they’re EASY but delicious, healthy, and beautiful. That website? (I’m almost terrified to tell you all because I feel like I found the best secret ever!!) it’s MelsKitchenCafe.com. She is a lovely lady (from Minnesota!) and does all from-scratch cooking and it’s fantastic. It seems like she really takes her time and learns her stuff before just posting any old recipe online: She’s testing the recipe several times before sharing with us! I haven’t made anything there I didn’t like. She’s transformed my home – serious. I’d HUG her if I met her today – and likely totally creep her out with my stalker-reaction (And I’m not usually emotional about meeting people!).

I have to admit, before this: my version of lasagna was store-bought frozen lasagna – even with some store-bought frozen garlic toast. Yes – this takes a few extra hours, and LOTS of dishes: but it…is… amazing! Truly. And I’ll have a hard time going back to frozen.
The first time I made it, I discovered that I REALLY needed to get a lasagna pan. I used a small casserole pan and had to break my noodles down to size – so when I had the opportunity to get any Bobby Flay item from Kohls.com, I instantly knew I wanted a lasagna pan – and a fancy Bobby Flay bread bowl for my new-found love of home-made garlic toast. 
While I’ve ‘screwed up’ this recipe every time I’ve made it – it’s still the best lasanga I’ve ever made! The first time I forgot to add the meat (but added it to the top) the second time I didn’t mix my sauce enough so I had chunks of mushrooms (And I hate mushrooms!), and the third time I LITERALLY FORGOT THE NOODLES!!! (yeah, I’m super smart!) so I had to tear apart the whole thing to insert noodles – it was ugly but delicious. But I have high hopes that I will make this all perfectly eventually.
Either way these Bobby Flay items from Kohls have helped to complete my kitchen, and I just love the way it completes the look on my kitchen table with company over.
Then not too long ago, I made lasagna roll-ups for dinner in this great pan – which was equally as beautiful and delicious! Unfortunately we ran out of the house to play outside right after dinner, and COMPLETELY forgot to put the lasagna away that night.. I was planning on leftovers for days, and I was so sad the next morning to wake up and find that they were still out.

I am a big fan of Bobby Flay. I have not tried any of his products from Kohl’s yet, but they look great and the quality is good.

I WANT that lasagna pan! I had no idea that Kohl’s even had them. I don’t get to shop there very often because it is about an hour from my house. I sure wish they would build one a little closer. I don’t hear anything but good things. Your dish turned out wonderful.

I KNOW!!! Seriously I knew I was missing something while layering, and was thinking to myself… “Meat… Cheese… White Sauce… Red Sauce… Meat… Cheese… ” UGh! Who forgets the noodles. Just me! 🙂
Next time though – I can’t imagine what I could possibly screw up. (Besides burning it I suppose – which I’m also SUPER good at!)

One of my favorite dishes to make with garlic bread too. The whole family love it. I add spinach, zucchini, and lots of other veggies to mine, and the kids don’t even know.
I haven’t seen any Bobby Flay pieces until now, boy do I love your lasagna pan! So big it all fits and decorative to compliment your lasagna. I’ll have to check into his collection (my birthday and Christmas) are on the way!

Lasagna is one of my favorites! I always do it in the crockpot during the summer months.

I love Bobby Flay products from Kohl’s. This is an awesome pan as the handles make it so much easier to get in and out of the oven without dropping it. BTW – the lasagna looks great.
