The other day, for young adults Bible study, Peter made a pork roast and butternut squash soup and it was delicious. Then one of guests had the awesome idea: it would make great baby food! So, we let some soup cool and fed it to Emersyn! She enjoyed it, as did her bib, her onsie, and the Bumbo seat…. Please note, if you have any concern about allergies or baby not tolerating foods, start with one food at a time and move to mixtures of foods after you know baby can tolerate each food alone.
Butternut Squash Soup Recipe

Bag of cubed butternut squash
-
Asparagus (1 bunch)
-
Chicken stock
-
Dried onion
-
Garlic
-
Cinnamon
-
Salt and Pepper to taste
Mix the squash, asparagus, dried onion, garlic, and chicken stock then boil until soft.
Mash, blend or puree to desired consistency. Add more chicken stock if it’s too thick.
Add cinnamon, salt, and pepper to taste.
Enjoy!
Butternut Squash Soup Baby food
Add breastmilk, formula, or rice cereal to desired consistency.
Let baby enjoy!
Put it in containers or freeze in ice cube trays for later use!

Love this two in one deal here, butternut squash soup is one of my favorites when the weather is chilly. Have not had it in some time, going to have to make some soon. Love the idea of putting it in the ice cube tray for the baby. Awesome idea!
