We love reading. And singing. And playing. So books that combine playing, singing and reading are pure gold. Silver Dolphin Books has a huge collection of fabulous books! We recently received two noisy books and two playmat books, all of which are so much fun!
“Hoist the sails, press the sound buttons, and laugh along as a Triceratops, a Stegosaurus, a T. rex and more search for treasure.” With silly art, lots of rhyming and alliteration, and a fun treasure hunt, this book is a great read for toddlers and preschoolers. What makes it even more fun are the noisy buttons on each page! The buttons make fun sound effects appropriate for the story. The sounds are actually good, and only annoying if pushed over and over and over and over and over and over and….you get the idea.
Hippos, bears, camels and more work with heavy construction equipment to build a playground. Again, the fun illustrations, rhyming and alliteration make this an entertaining read. Plus a sound effect button on each of the six pages for extra fun! My son LOVES construction, so this book was an instant favorite and got lots of use on our recent road trip.
Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O! This playset comes in a cute barn box and is complete with a little board book, plastic playmat, and wooden tractor. The board book has bright pictures along with the classic Old MacDonald song. The little wooden tractor rolls well and feels well-made. The playmat is my favorite! It’s plastic, just thicker and bigger than a disposable table mat. The pictures of farmyard animals and the farm are cute and kids will enjoy hours of driving the little tractor around. I imagine the plastic playmat will rip eventually, but so far so good!
The wheels on the bus go round and round! This playset also comes with a chunky board book full of cute pictures and the classic Wheels on the Bus song. The wooden school bus and playmat are all ready for hours of fun! The playmat includes buildings from around town, so kids can learn words and places while playing. I love it, and my kids are thrilled to drive around the little school bus as they think about school themselves!
