Parker Time Potions are massage oils for kids. My first thought when I read about them was Why would I want to give my kids a massage? So I read the story. Created by a mom with a special-needs son, the purpose of the potions and the pediatric massage was to help them slow down and have their own quiet bonding time. There weren’t any good massage mediums out there without dyes or other ingredients that could be rough on precious little one’s skin, so she created her own.
So, I started to rethink the idea. Having moments to slow Micah down, to bond and relax together, while also massaging and hydrating his skin sounded like a fantastic idea. Plus the different oils (play, original, and relax) might help baby Emersyn orient play time and sleep time. I would do anything to help her sleep better at night! Plus her skin could definitely use some extra hydration in our dry Arizona weather.
After bath one night I showed Micah what a massage is, then he was happy to lie down and let me rub some oil on his back. For about a minute, then he was off and running again. It did seem to make him fall asleep easier that night. Emersyn also seems to enjoy a brief massage and I feel like the relax scent helps her fall asleep more easily. Lavender and rose oil are the special ingredients in Relax potion.
The Play scent has kind of a happy feel to it. And the original potion is just plain good for hydration and bonding any time.
Overall I love the Parker Time Potions. Even though my little man doesn’t sit still for a long rub, it makes him smell good, hydrates his skin and helps him fall asleep. Emersyn is better at lying for a massage (then again, she can’t crawl away yet) and I feel like I’m actively helping her have good skin and sleep better. I have heard of massaging babies but didn’t know they had massage lotion just for that.
I use to massage my kids legs when they were babies just using lotions and they really liked it. Then again, think we all love to be pampered like this. Just feels great! This would be great, I have heard how good lavender is for relaxing.
