I Finally Got a ‘Grown-Up’ Diaper Bag!

I was so excited when I got the opportunity to review an Amy Michelle™ go bebé™ tote.  I honestly barely remembered that there was such a thing as a ‘Stylish’ diaper bag.

I discovered Amy Michelle a few weeks before I had my second son, Ethan.  At that time I had an almost 2 year old, and was slowly moving from the ugly diaper bag to carrying a diaper and wipes in my purse.

After all, Andrew was a super-clean baby, and never needed a change of clothes or any other things while we were out.  And I didn’t love the look of my diaper bag – or carrying both my diaper bag and my purse around.

I knew though, that in a few weeks – it was all going to change.  I would have to start carrying *everything* again – and not only did I have a new infant – I had a toddler – so staying-in was not much of an option for us.

So like I said, I was really excited to have the chance to review the bag.

I received the New Orleans style bag – which I love. I love that it’s not so fancy as a leather purse – but it’s not so unstylish like a diaper bag.

New Orleans Diaper Bag

There are two front pockets on the bag, which are not enclosed, so I typically leave these pockets empty – and just throw things in there last minute – like favorite toys, or other things to keep the kids busy if we’re stuck somewhere…  or an umbrella.

Full Patterned Diaper Bag

The back pocket holds the diaper changing pad – which I immediately removed and put into the trunk of my car.  The only time I ever want the changing pad is when I’m at a yucky gas-station or otherwise unsanitary area for changing a diaper.

The inside of this bag is where it’s all happening:

Diaper Bag with extra room

There are two bottle pockets. One on either side of the bag – which I love.  Having two boys – I’ve always got at least two drinks – but not all bags have two secure places for those drinks.

The other pockets are wide enough to hold a few diapers, and a package of wipes – which is super awesome for keeping everything organized.

Another awesome feature is that the bag comes with stroller straps – so I can attach the bag to my stroller – which I realized the value of at our latest trip to the zoo!

Diaper Bag hanging on a stroller

Here I was able to dig right in to get something at a moments notice – without having to stop and dig around under the narrow opening of the stroller storage.

One of my favorite features of this Amy Michelle bag – is the attention to detail when making it.  Notice how the insides of the pockets are brightly colored?  It helps moms like me – who don’t have it all together, and tend to lose things at the bottom of deep, dark pockets.

I only wish I had discovered the Amy Michelle bags 3 1/2 years ago!!

Amy Michelle bags are sold at specialty baby boutiques and select fine baggage stores – as well as internet sites like Amazon.com or www.amymichelle.com.  The New Orleans style bag retails for $59.95.

This is one of the nicest diaper bags I have ever seen. I like the design, and that it does not look like a diaper bag! It is great when a company can make such a nice diaper bag!
