When my mom, sister and grandma came to visit for Micah’s birthday we had a fun visit!
We went shopping for birthday and Christmas presents, had a birthday party, had a Christmas celebration, went to church and got date night! Plus time to just hang out and visit, which was great to be able to catch up with them and with what’s going on in their lives.
The best part, “grammy” and “auntie” got to spend time with Micah and Emersyn, he’s been talking about them ever since! He points them out in pictures, say “hi” and then says “bye” because he knows they had to go back to Minnesota. He loved his visit from family, and Emersyn loved the extra faces to smile at and hands to hold her.
Plus Peter and I loved having extra hands around to help clean, entertain babies, and let us go out on a date night! Kids are fantastic, but they can be a strain on marriage and definitely a strain on alone time, so it is great for us to get away for a date night at least once a month, if not more! We were more than happy to let grandma, great-grandma and auntie run the show while we got away for a bit.
We were sad to see them leave but are really looking forward to a return visit in February and then hopefully we can get back to MN sometime this summer!

So nice to have family in town to help out and babysit for dates! We don’t have anybody close so when they visit we love it!
