Homemade Baked Crab Rangoon
I LOVE crab rangoon. It’s delicious. It’s also expensive. So, I decided to make it myself! I looked up recipes but wasn’t really happy with any of them. They called for weird ingredients that I didn’t have and seemed more complex than I wanted to take on. So, I mixed and matched and made it up and they were delicious!
What you Need:
Wonton Wrappers
Package Whipped Cream Cheese
One Egg
Small Onion, Finely Chopped
About 1/2 cup Mayo
Half package Imitation Crab finely chopped
A teaspoon or two of Worchestershire Sauce
Whatever else you want in them… maybe a little green onion? Or some buffalo sauce? Or soy sauce or garlic… the options are endless!
Ready Set Go!
Mix onion, mayo, crab, Worchestershire sauce and cream cheese (and whatever else) until well blended.
(So, my ingredient list isn’t exactly science. Mix in a little more or a little less to your tastes and desires.)
Crack the egg in a bowl.
Set out a wonton wrapper, dip your finger into the egg and line two edges.
Put a spoonful of the mix in the middle of the wrapper, fold the edges so it makes a triangle and press. The egg juice will hold it together.
Repeat (And repeat and repeat and repeat)
Bake at 400 for about 15 minutes. ENJOY!
I baked mine in a cupcake pan to give the edges some curl. You can also bake them on a cookie sheet. Or freeze them unbaked for a later date! (I have some in the freezer right now…. I should get those out tomorrow…..)
