Baby Video Monitor and Giveaway

See.ing Cloud SmartCam Video Monitor

See.ing Cloud SmartCam has three video monitors (great as baby video monitors) and I had the chance to review one of them for you! I also get to run a giveaway of one, make sure you enter! Opinions are always 100% my own and not influenced by compensation. In short, my opinion of the See.ing Cloud SmartCam DXG 110 is that it loads quickly, works smoothly, and has a decent picture quality. Overall, it’s a great video monitor for everyday use!

Seeing Cam Placement

See.ing SmartCam Video Monitor Setup

The setup of the See.ing SmartCam was actually really simple. Basically, plug it in, connect to it’s WiFi, then connect it to my WiFi and go! Just make sure you download the new app (SeeingCloud) not the old app (See.ing). Unplug and move it, no problem. Look on another phone? Just log in to the account you set up with it for security.

See.ing SmartCam Speed

The speed of the See.ing SmartCam was actually the most impressive: it loads up super quickly! Really, it’s a matter of seconds! It does eventually drop if left open long enough, but then it’s easy to close and re-open since it loads up so fast. The ability to remotely move the camera (zoom, move up/down or side-to-side) is also really awesome, but more slow. It does move, but not as quickly as I’d like.

Seeing Cam Ready for Action

See.ing SmartCam Picture

The day mode is awesome! Even in kind of dim light. It picks up the light great and colors vibrantly. It struggles a little pointed right at a window, like any camera would with such a bright backlight. The night mode is a little pixelated and quite purple-appearing, but it still picks up detail well! It’s not super high quality but it’s good enough to pick out where Micah is lying and what he’s doing.

Seeing Cam Bedroom

See.ing SmartCam Remote Abilities

Listen – of course, you can hear baby. It’s kind of quiet, but the volume can be adjusted.

Speak – press and hold, talk, then release to let it go through. Weird and hard to figure out at first but I think that’s how it works.

Pictures/Video – self-explanatory. And you can put an SD card into the camera to record to.

Seeing Cam Landscape

Remote movement

The See.ing Cloud SmartCam remote movement is awesome, because kids move, they don’t stay put. Like I said above, it’s a little slow, but the camera does move. And the Patrol option makes it go all the way around to see everything. Oddly, when I turn my phone sideways to view a bigger picture as the landscape mode, the remote movement option isn’t there, so I have to turn it back upright to move it, then turn sideways again. Not a big deal, just odd and worth mentioning.

Other See.ing SmartCam Features

Push notifications and emails – if you want to be notified for motion. I have them off to save battery life.

Top bar icon – shows at the top of my phone so I know it’s still running in the background.

Other uses – security cam, monitor parties from afar, watch kids outside, check in on grandma, and more!

Power cord – it’s too short and has a huge plug, I remedied that with an extension cord.

Seeing Cam Nightvision

Check out the See.ing SmartCam online, or it’s available for $150 at Amazon.com, Sharper Image, Smart Home, Fry’s Electronics, and the Seeing Cam website. A totally decent value compared to other monitors. Again, if you are on a super tight budget, a cheap audio monitor is all you really need. But, if you want to see your baby or toddler and have the cash, this is a great option.
