Glow Bug Cloth Diapers #Giveaway

As we continue on our cloth diapering journey, I’ve found my new favorite cloth diaper! It’s from Glow Bug and it’s fantastic. Not only is it cute, it is incredibly functional and Glow Bug thought of everything a mom (or dad) could want in the design. Glow Bug sent me a diaper to review for this post and you could win one for yourself! Opinions are 100% my own and my opinion is that the Glow Bug diaper is at the top of my stack every time.

Glow Bug Cloth Diapers

When I say Glow Bug thought of everything, I mean EVERYTHING. The leg gussets have all around protection, there are snaps everywhere necessary to adjust to the diaper to baby’s size, and it’s so soft and gentle on the inside!

Glow bug diaper adjustable

PLUS the inside has a section with “walls” to hold in the poop! Though I imagine a baby could still cause a blowout, it would be a lot harder in a Glow Bug cloth diaper!

glow bug diaper inside

For a busy mom like me, Glow Bug also put openings on both ends of the pocket so it’s easy to get my fingers in while I’m stuffing the insert to get it straight and flat from both ends.

Add to the the ability to snap the inserts together for easier insertion and removal. And, of course, the patterns are super cute and fun.

Glowbug inserts

The bad? The only big thing I can think of is that the velcro diaper are easier to put on than snap diapers. Buying-wise, you have to buy them in packs of 12 at a time. Some can be bought individually on the Glow Bug Facebook site at a slightly higher price. But, honestly, you need at least 12 diapers to get started on cloth diapering, so why not buy in bulk?

I love the prints in Glow Bug’s Botanist package. It seems like the 360 degree gusset system is pretty unique to Glow Bug. We have a couple of their diapers, and they seem really well made! We’ll put them to the test when baby #1 arrives!

If you don’t have easy access to a washer and dryer, I suggest something like this. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AW04ZMM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 I keep it in my bathroom and use a wooden drying rack to dry the diapers. It has saved me lots of money over the coin-op machines in my apartment building’s laundry room. Plus, I have complete control over water temperature and cycle lengths.

we’ve been cloth diapering for about 4 months now! i really enjoy it, despite doing a load of laundry every day :p
one bit of advice i’d give to someone starting out is to buy a few different types of diapers, regardless of what your friends/the internet recommends. i thought i would LOVE grovia all in one’s and wanted them to be the majority of my stash (i had just read countless awesome things about them). and while i do like my grovia’s, they are not my favorite and i’m glad i could only afford 4 at the time i bought them because it enabled me to try out different types and brands 🙂

We’ve only recently tried Glowbug diapers but they are one of my favorites! Love the 360 gussets and they are so easy to stuff with the openings on both sides! Some of the best advice I was given when I started cloth diapering was to try several different brands and types of cloth diapers to see what you like using and what fits your baby best rather than investing in a full stash of one thing right from the start.

I like the elastic gusset feature I really wasn’t to see if it works on my boss blowouts. I often jelly roll a prefold inside a shell cover to catch poopsplosions. I also like the pocket opening on both ends. It would be easier to stuff and probably easier to get a clean grab to yank out for wash.
    Really wanna win this one.

I just couldn’t take the idea of spending money on disposables just to throw them away and have them sit around in a landfill for centuries. Between my two youngest, I’ve been cloth diapering for almost 4 years. A piece of advice I would give to people new to cloth diapering is to not be afraid! Eventually you will develope a routine and a system that works for you, expect some trial and error. Do what works best for you and your family, don’t be intimidated by crazy washing routines or buying soap exclusively for diapers.
