The First Years makes sippy cups with totally interchangeable lids. Whether soft or hard spout, straw or sippy, all the lids interchange. They are also dishwasher safe, break-proof and BPA-free. The Life of A Sippy Cup
Most sippy cups live short, abused lives. They get filled with liquid, get thrown around and bashed against tables and floors, and lost in corners where said liquid quickly molds or slowly drips out and makes a mess. Then, upon being found, they might make it to the dishwasher or sink to start the journey again, or they might meet an early demise in the garbage can (depends on how long they spent molding in the corner!). Ultimately, any active toddler finds a way to make them all leak or crack (Micah cracked a brand new one on a KFC floor once). If not, the lids get lost, one never fits another, and mom and dad spent frustrating minutes that feel like hours searching for a matching pair while the kid whines and pulls behind them. Right?

Here’s the biggest difference: the lids are totally interchangeable. They all fit each other! Which totally rocks, way less time digging in a drawer full or cups and lids just hoping to find the matching pair. The other big difference: the lids are one piece, and the cups are one piece. Easier cleaning! Yay! The last big difference: they claim to be break-proof. Micah has thrown his around quite sufficiently and it still looks awesome. I’m impressed. He did, though, find a way to make it leak (he always does) so I can’t stand behind the leak-proof claim. Micah clung to his straw design First Years sippy cup the whole day we got it and it was the first one he went to for days after.

Sippy cups….. ahh the memories that brings back. I never found a leak-proof one either. My daughter always found a way 🙂
