Nature Cat escapes his house to explore the world when his owners leave each day. The app has daily challenges to motivate kids to leave their houses each day too! Whether it’s going out to record the sound of crunching leaves, or take a picture of a tree, or find a bug. The goal is being outside, learning about their world.
The app has 5 sections: Journal, Camera, Microphone, Compass, and Daily Challenges. This makes it great for kids of many ages and abilities. The Journal ability can be writing, drawing, or placing stickers. And there are multiple journals for the different show characters. Plus, Nature Cat provides instruction along the way. The instructions can be skipped if you don’t want to listen to them.
My kids are excited about the idea of using my phone to take pictures outside. Be warned, if you let them walk away with it you may end up with about 30 pictures of the grass and a slow-mo video of sister running in the distance. Yes, I speak from experience.
