BOB Revolution Flex Double Jogging Stroller Review

As part of our quest to get more fit (lose weight and get in shape after having baby), we are doing a couch to 5K program. Basically, we downloaded a free app and we are following it, plus walking on non-running days and eating healthier. In our past times doing the couch to 5K, we’ve just had Micah in a jogging stroller. Now, with a almost-2 Micah and 2-month old Emersyn, the single stroller definitely wasn’t going to work. Let me introduce the awesome BOB Revolution Flex Duallie (Double) Jogging Stroller. This double jogging stroller is AWESOME!

BOB Revolution Flex Double Jogging Stroller: The Basics

The BOB Revolution Flex Double Jogging Stroller is a jogging stroller with a solid frame and two seats with 5-point harnesses. The front wheel can either swivel or lock depending on your needs for speed and terrain.

Both seats have two mesh pockets on the sides for cups, toys or snacks, and a big mesh pocket on the back for whatever we want to bring along (big enough for a lot of things!). It’s ok for walking at 8 weeks old, jogging at 8 months old, or fits an adapter to put on baby’s car seat. It has shocks and can hold up to 100 pounds!

The seats can adjust to any angle and are padded (back, seat and legs!). The canopies can also adjust to any of 4 points of coverage and both have a big viewing window that can easily be opened and folded into a net to keep out of the way.

The frame is solid with shocks that can be snapped back for heavier riders. The fabric is thick, strong and well-attached to the frame. The color (we love our green!) is bold and the reflectors are bright.

So much adjustability! The absolute best part: the handle can be easily adjusted to 9 different heights so Peter or I can push comfortably. The seat backs adjust easily. The harness tighten and adjust easily. Pretty much everything on the Revolution Flex is adjustable to fit our changing needs.

The folding – the BOB Revolution Flex Double Jogging Stroller folds down in two easy steps (clasps by the handle, then a quick hard pull on the red strap underneath and done!). Then the wrist strap double as a clip to hold it tightly folded. And the wheels are super easy to remove if I need it smaller. It folds almost as small as my single Graco stroller! The whole thing fits in my trunk easily with the front wheel removed, with room to spare. Bonus, both the handlebar and kickbar are padded to protect my hands.

The best part, it opens in one step! Well, unclip the clip doesn’t count as a step, then grab the handle and lift high and fast, click click and stroller! The manual says two steps: lift the red release to open the bottom, then the handle to open the top. I find either way easy, if I do the one step way I have to be sure I hear the second click that indicates the wheels are open and shocks snapped into place.

BOB Revolution Flex Double Jogging Stroller rides like a dream! The wheels run so smoothly! No resistance at all. Plus the real rubber wheels and shocks make the ride smooth for Micah and Emersyn. The front wheel is easy to switch between swivel and locked depending on our needs. And the brake is super easy to engage and release!

The hook and loop pieces (velcro for those that don’t feel the need to be politically correct). There are hook and loop pieces almost everywhere you could possibly need them to hold straps and flaps in place. The only place I wish there would be a hook and loop piece that there isn’t – behind the seats to the wind flap could hold the seatbacks down while folded. I might just stick my own piece there.

is fantastic. It’s super easy to snap the adapter in, screw on the safety straps and the stay that holds the canopy back, and snap the car seat into place. It feels solid and secure, and then Micah has a little tray and cup holder! We aren’t supposed to jog with the car seat on, technically, because it throws off the center of gravity. It still feels solid to us, and our jogging pace is about the same as our walking pace (we’ll get there!) so we just keep a good hold on it.

The whole thing can still be folded with the adapter in, not quite as flat but flat enough to still easily fit in my trunk. Or the adapter can easily be removed by pushing back the spring-loaded safety to get to the red release buttons on either side.

The Bad?

It can’t stand up when it’s folded, it has to lie down, which is harder for storage but not a big deal. And it’s wide (duh, it’s double) but no wider than any other double stroller. The seat backs are flexible and do stick out when folded, but putting on my own piece of velcro on the wind flap will solve that easily. Finally, there are no cup holders. You can buy a cup holder piece from BOB, or we just put our water bottles and other items into the huge seat back pockets, no problem.

We seriously love our BOB Revolution Flex Double Jogging Stroller. We’ve also met other people who love theirs, including a lady at the grocery store with 4 grandbabies who have used hers. She couldn’t stop talking about how much she loves her orange BOB Revolution Flex Double Jogging Stroller!
