I have always been what I’d consider a ‘stroller mom’. I was never into baby-wearing. Probably mostly due to the fact that I didn’t have a good baby carrier until Ethan was 9 months old, and the fact that I just enjoy my personal-space all too much.
I love good, quality products over cheaply made, inexpensive products. Hands Down. So when we went looking at strollers, it was no surprise that we could tell the difference between a ‘good’ stroller, and a ‘cheap’ one. And it has made a huge impact on the way that we view ‘strolling’ with our family.
I love the new Britax B-Nimble stroller. While I have what I would consider a really nice umbrella style stroller, I could definitely tell the quality difference between mine, and this one. In fact, the Britax B-Nimble stroller has several of the features I was originally looking for in a stroller like:
The option to lay down the back rest: I loved that my large stroller was able to let the kids lay down for a nap – but with my umbrella stroller I had to be more careful with nap-time outings. Now, I can take my stroller out whenever!
An easier wheel locking feature: Having one kid in a stroller, and the other walking – there are bound to be some shenanigans. My oldest is insistent on pushing around the youngest – and that often leads to trouble. I like to be able to discreetly lock the wheels to prevent this from happening.
Car Seat Carrying Capabilities: We got our first stroller before Andrew was born – it was part of the ‘travel system’ that we purchased – so one of the bigger strollers. We quickly realized how impractical a large stroller was to tote around in the trunk, and that a smaller stroller would be necessary. But then what about carrying the stroller with the car seat? Impossible, Right? Wrong!!! If only I had another infant… (Or not…).
But seriously – this is brilliant. Think about how little space this stroller takes in your trunk – as a new mom carrying everything with you every place you go can be rather daunting. Now you just keep the little stroller in the trunk and you don’t have to wake baby to go into the store (or feel like a doof for pulling out your ginormous stroller).
A {properly stowed} Rain Cover: You never know when you’re going to get rained on – and a typical umbrella stroller covers just your head – but not your legs, or any sort of sideways-rain protection. This rain cover goes all the way down to the feet – perfect for any unexpected rain storm! – stowed perfectly in a pocket.
Easy-Swivel wheels: My husband has longed for a stroller that he could use to push the kids while he rollerblades. We tried the jogging strollers, but they hurt his wrists from picking the stroller up each time he moved. The wheels swivel so easily, and the stroller is so light – that he can rollerblade in circles with the boys!
Cup Holder: No more sticking the cups in the umbrella part of the stroller! This one is removable!
One handed folding: A highly important feature of any stroller (and IMHO the FIRST feature you should consider in a stroller) is the ability to collapse it while holding a young child. Reality Check. I love the stroller lock and fold down system that the Britax has – it’s similar to my old stroller, which seems to confuse anyone who doesn’t have one (which I consider a theft deterrent).
Overall, I love this stroller so much that it is now the main one we grab when we’re leaving the house. I have found one downside – which is definitely not a deal-breaker for us:
Disadvantage: Hidden foot rest: It seems that due to the leg extension area – the foot rest is set back too far, and is hard for my boys to stick their feet on. Andrew’s legs are longer, and therefore they tend to want to ‘rest’ on the wheels. We have to tell him often to switch his feet to the foot rest. When they’re on the rest, his feet stay well – it’s finding the foot rest that’s hard.
The Britax B-Nimble Stroller retails for $199, but you can often find it on sale at amazon.com for $160 or less! Which honestly to some people sounds insane to pay for a small stroller – but you’ll get your money’s worth from it!

I like the fact that it’s so compact. You can fold it up, put it in your trunk, and go. Also, the harness is such a great idea. No more slipping down and out. The plastic covering would be ideal if caught in the rain. All in all, it’s a great stroller. My niece is expecting. This would make a WONDERFUL gift! I know when my boys were younger, I used a stroller so much!
