Step2 Tropical Island Resort Water Table Review and Giveaway

So having had our new deck installed – I needed to be sure that we had some cool new toys for the kiddos to play with on the deck.
Step2 to the rescue!!

Being a part of the Step2 Test Drive Moms, I’m so excited that I was able to get the Step2 Tropical Island Resort water table for the kids.  It’s really the perfect toy for them.

Having had owned a water table previously, I knew what I was looking for in a new table.  I wanted one that had rounded corners and sides that weren’t ditched in – because you know what happens to water when it sits stale for a day or two in the sun?? It gets slimy and gross.

I also wanted one large enough for both boys to have an interesting area to play in.  The last table we had was smaller and harder for two toddlers to play on it together… Nicely.

DSC02803So we got the table in the mail.  I love that Step2 has the pictures on the box – the kids were SO excited to open it up, and knew what we were going to be building right away.

I let Joe put it together – And Ethan Helped…DSC02809

It tortured us for a few weeks sitting inside in the Dining room, where I told them that water wouldn’t be put in the tub until the weather warmed up – or if we *had* to for review purposes (if the weather didn’t clear up) we would bring it downstairs and fill it up for a few minutes.  DSC02813

The Step2 Island Resort has lots of interesting toys – enough to keep the kids busy for hours!

I love putting it on my deck, because it’s close for me to clean off – and I can watch the kids playing in the water even while I am washing dishes.

DSC02919

The problem is my new deck – I used to be able to put a child gate up in front of the stairs and Ethan was protected.  But now it’s such a wide opening to walk through that I would need a custom built gate (which we’re actually looking at getting along with our new fence).  So I am terrified of Ethan running into the yard and bolting to the street.  Hence – the new fences as well Winking smile.

DSC02923

Let me tell you though, we’ve had several hours already of creative play time with this table!

Ethan pretty much just likes to splash and dump water around – which is totally fun in and of itself – DSC02938

But Andrew is more interested in the included toys!  He loves the imagination behind the people, and have them take a ride (or sink)in the boat, or spinning them on the merry go round, or simply pouring the water over the palm tree and watching the gears go round!

Here a video of him Getting the little guy to slide down the water slide.

Ethan only gets as creative as this…. Yes… this is Ethan pouring the water down his pants. Winking smile

DSC02941

My favorite part?  Our last water table we had to tip over and dump out each time that we used it.  However, this one is WAY easier than that.

DSC02955Simply pull the plug at the bottom.  This gets the majority of the water out.  DSC02956

Did you notice how smooth the corners of this tub are?!  They’re super easy to wash out.   A little tip: towards the end of playtime, I bring out a new bowl of warm soapy water to add to the almost-empty (due to splashing) Water table.  That way, the kids are playing in the bubbles, and cleaning the table at the same time! Genius, Right?

DSC02922

So if you’re looking for a great toy for your toddler – something that is squeaky-clean entertainment  – this is the jackpot of toys!  My kids don’t like to be dunked under water, and it’s too complicated for me to bring both kids to a public kiddie pool – so this is a much nicer solution for cooling off.

So, I assume now that everyone wants one of these for their deck or back yard??

Well you’re in luck!

Win It!!

One of my lucky readers is going to win a Step2 Tropical Island Resort valued at $79.99

I have noticed that with rafflecopter sometimes people use a different email (because of Facebook) and so I’ve been giving people who win a chance to prove themselves (aka. forwarding me their last email they got from me, etc.) Just so it’s not so disappointing.

Yeah – I’ve got one of these too 🙂 They’re AMAZING and so fun to have in the yard for the kids and the neighbor kids! If I didn’t have one, I’d probably be buying one now… even my 1 1/2 year old loves it!
