It can be tough to do all or most of the house cleaning

It can be tough to do all or most of the house cleaning. Sure, the kids may be responsible for cleaning their rooms and the husband may clean his car and his personal space from time to time, but everything else is often left on the shoulders of the industrious mother.

Many times, that’s the way moms want it. They have to have things done a certain way, and they know better than anyone where everything goes. It’s up to them to put things in their place. From time to time, however, it’s nice to have a break from all the cleaning, and we have a few suggestions or how you can do that.

Assign Extra Work to the Kids

If you have kids that are seven or older, then they can probably do most of the cleaning in the house. They may not be able to clean as fast or as effectively as you, but they can learn to clean very well. They can do dishes, mop floors, sweep, vacuum, clean windows and most of the other chores that you take care of on a daily and weekly basis. We’re not saying to give them everything at once and just leave it all to them, but you should be able to put your feet up once in a while and assign some extra duties to your kids. Maybe it can be a tradeoff, where you fix them a meal they like and in return they have to do some of your chores.

Ask your partner to Take Over Every Now and Then

You can also ask the husband to give you a break from time to time. Maybe he or she already does on Valentines, Mother’s Day or your birthday, but you can ask every so often if he would be willing to do some of the chores and give you a little break. It’s not a crime to ask for a reprieve from time to time. Anyone who works hard and does their job well is entitled to a break every now and again, and that includes hard-working mothers.

Hire a Cleaning Service

You may have a family with a very busy schedule or you may be able to afford an occasional cleaning service for your home. Either way, it’s a good idea to give yourself a break every once in a while and hire some professionals to come in and clean the house for you. This is a great if you are trying to make the house look extra clean or you want to do some deep cleaning, including dusting, cleaning showers and more, before a vacation or a special event. Just pick the company that you trust the most (by reading reviews or talking to others who have used them in the past) and let them take over for you once in a while.

You deserve to let someone else do the cleaning every so often, and hopefully one of these ideas will allow you to do just that.
