Handprint and Footprint Art!

While my mom was here, when Emersyn was just a week old, we took the opportunity to start to handprint art. And footprint art. It was a little difficult to get Emersyn to open up her hand for nice prints, but with one person hold the cookie sheet with the dough or paper on top and baby E reclining in the bouncer, the other person could open the hand and make the print. Thankfully, the dough can easily be re-squished and re-flattened, and we had way more paper and paint available than necessary.

Handprint Ornaments

When Micah was a newborn, we made handprint santas. I wanted to do something different but similar for Emersyn, so we did handprint snowmen!

The recipe makes enough for 6 ornaments. Super cute memories for loved ones to hang on their Christmas trees!

Handprint and Footprint Art for Multiple Kids!

I also wanted to make some prints that would have both Micah and Emersyn on them. So I searched Pinterest and found footprint sunshines and handprint/footprint LOVE papers!

Washable Paint Recipes

My favorite finger paint recipe: Equal parts baby shampoo and corn starch. Add more cornstarch or small amounts of water until at desired thickness. Separate into large muffin tin (or styrofoam cups or whatever you have available) and add food coloring to desired color. Then paint!

Washable paint

Micah enjoyed playing with the paint, I just kept my papers and his papers separate and then completed the pictures with crayon after the washable paint had dried. The flattened them between two cookie sheets since the paint made it dry crinkly.
